The Bar named Muted Horn is simply a legend and we are more than happy to brew a batch to celebrate their eighth birthday. This bar is for real beer geeks. The 22 taps are flowing with the best you can think of, from Belgian lambics to American stouts and Czech lagers. And the selection of bottles in the fridges? Well, you’ll never forget it.<\/p>\n
For our birthday batch, we settled on a Pilsner hopped in the West Coast style. That is, with a distinct bitterness, light body and strong aroma of New World hops. To create something a little unusual, we reached for hops grown in Germany. While the American Amarillo variety will grow with less aromatics in Germany, it still retains a distinct conifer and yellow melon profile. We were given the opportunity to brew a birthday beer for the legendary Berlin bar Muted Horn. We settled on a light drinkable lager hopped heavily with hops grown in Germany: German Amarillo and Tango.
