Winter Affair is not only a celebration of exceptional beer experiences, but also a celebration of collaboration and creativity. One of the breweries we have joined forces with this year is Estonia’s P\u00f5hjala, a legend in the world of strong dark beers, and together we have created an Imperial Baltic Porter that pays homage to both history and innovation.<\/p>\n
Baltic Porter is a historic style from the Baltic region, the homeland of P\u00f5hjala. It is a very heavy beer that is fermented with bottom (lager) yeast and then lagered for an extended period of time. The chocolate flavour from the roasted malts and the notes of dried fruit that come from the caramel malts have been complemented with traditional Czech plum jam (called povidla) and beech smoked malt. The result is a heavy, complex and harmonious beer with notes of chocolate, dried fruit, plum accents and a subtle smoky note that blends beautifully with the flavours of the povidla.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
