After many years of friendship, we finally got to arrange a joint batch with the famous Strahov brewery. We decided to combine their rich experience in brewing semi-dark beers with the unusual addition of plum jam, poppy seeds and vanilla. Germknödel Bock was born. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

Bock is a traditional German bottom-fermented beer style typically brewed for the autumn months at a higher strength than is typical of German lagers. Due to the higher strength and use of German malts, it feels very full and bready, and German hops often add a nice floral dimension to it. We thought that this pleasant bready body would be a good basis for a small experiment with interesting ingredients. And so we decided to combine this tradition with another German evergreen. Germknödel is a large soft dumpling filled with plum jam, topped with vanilla sauce and sprinkled with poppy seeds and sugar, which is a Bavarian specialty same as a Bock is. That’s why we believe that this combination will work great.
