Yugoslavia’s former hop-growing programme was one of the oldest in Europe. Indeed, Slovenia’s sunny climate, shaded by the Italian mountains, makes it a great place to grow aromatic hops, but also grapes for example. With the increasing emphasis on localness and regional authenticity, the amount of hops grown in Slovenia has begun to rise, and so hops that were previously hard to find are now easily available even here in the Czech Republic. We enjoy bringing you the tastes of foreign cultures and thus breaking down the local idea that Czech beer culture, Czech lager and even Czech hops have no alternative in the world. As the growing craft cultures of the world show us, there is everywhere to be inspired. Everywhere there is something to learn. Everywhere there is something to savour.
