We too often tend to put the most fragrant and intense foreign hops in the strongest beers possible to really make the flavor stand out. This is because alcohol helps dissolve hop essential oils, so the rule of thumb is that the stronger the beer, the more potential it has to smell hoppy. But lately we’ve been trying to go the other way more. Figuring out how to add that hop intensity even if we leave the alcohol lower. Because not everyone wants to break open a 7 % beer. And that’s the philosophy behind our latest delight for Sabro hop fans. Simply a drinkable 5%er that won’t get old and will please you infinitely. Sabro has quickly become one of the world’s most sought after hops in recent years, despite only coming to market in 2018. The reason is simple, there is no alternative for its character, tasting richly of citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit and coconut. Its flavours are lent by its exotic origins in a wild variety of hops from the genus Neomexicanus, which grows wild in the southern Andes.
