In January we held the very first iteration of the Winter Affair international beer We sat down with German rock stars and hockey fans from the Sudden Death brewery in Lübeck and came up with a very modern interpretation of the sour ale style. For more body and sweetness, we used maltodextrin instead of lactose, making the beer suitable for vegans and those of us who can’t or won’t consume milk for many reasons. The choice of fruit fell on tropical guava, juicy strawberries and sour calamansi, which together create a real taste poetry.
