Meet a so-callled IPL (India Pale Lager), style that combines malt qualities of the traditional Czech lager with hop regime and varieties typical for more modern beers of IPA styles. The final flavour stands as its own category and we have come to love it as an entrance beer to the world of modern beers for lager lovers.
The world of New Zealand hops is a world of elegant tastes, New Zealand is an ideal place for growing modern aromatic hops thanks to its climate, that oscilates between hot tropical summers and deep cold winters. Local hop growers and institutes capitalize on this fact and created a ton of interesting new varieties like Nelson Sauvin or Motueka, these hops have and incredibly rich yet smooth aroma full of fruits, citrus and grapes.
Motueka is a New Zealand variety of hops previously known as Belgian Saaz or B-Saaz. It is a very soft variety with intense tone of citrus and tropical fruits, that was released to the brewing market in 1997. For many year, New Zealand hops were virtually impossible to get our hands on in Czech Republic, but over the couple last years, we have started to receive big enough shipments, to make great beers of our own.
