We decided to bring the hop intesity of a New England IPA to those of you who prefer ligher beers with lower alcohol content. In our series Veni Vidi, you’ll be able to taste different famous and new hops from all over the world in a beautifull light body of just 10 degrees Plato. To recreate the thick body of a NEIPA, we used higher mashing temperatures. In between the intense hop aroma and a thick pale malt body, you won’t believe how light this beer is. Topaz was created in 1985, making it one of the first hop of Australian origin. It was incepted as a hybrid between an Australian bittering variety and another one brought in from England. The goal was to grow a high Alpha acid hop for bittering and that’s what it was used for for many years. Thanks to the experimental brewers of the new millenium, it was discovered that Topaz offers a pretty cool aroma character of lychee, resin and nice grassy tones, and now it is a darling of many fans of traditional american IPA. 500 ml, alcohol, 4,1 % vol.
