The Weizenbock beer style is quite a young style amongst the traditional German beers, neverthles it’s still over 100 years old. We consider Schneider Weisse Aventinus to be the original example of this style. It was first brewed in 1907 ansd the interesting fact is that the Schneider brewery at that time was lead by a woman, Mathilde Schneider, who inhereted the brewery’s management after her husband died in 1905.
Our Weizenbock is is a little different than the usual German interpretations, it’s paler in colour with a focus on the wheat impression and with a decoction mashing regime, that aims for as high as possible banana flavours with minimal traces of clove.
