For those of you who want to treat your Christmas table to a classic New England IPA in a festive coat, we brew an adequate choice every year. This year it’s Kometa again, but we’ve completely switched up the hop bill. We reached for a pair of hypermodern varieties from New Zealand. Superdelic was launched in 2017 and offers very rich flavours of red berries, tropical fruits and citrus. Nectaron is more modern and launched in 2020; it brings with it an extremely aromatic character full of notes of pineapple, grapefruit and passion fruit. Both of these hops are exceptional in their uncompromisingly intense expression, which takes a slightly different route to previous New Zealand breeding efforts. For us, it’s a great route.
